The Society of Friends of the Louvre is the historic partner of the All Patrons appeal for donations campaigns! by mobilizing the generosity of its 60,000 members and offering a Friends of the Louvre card to all donors over 250 euros.

On the occasion of the new Tous Mécènes campaign! in favor of the acquisition of Chardin’s Basket of Strawberries, a program dedicated to the three works already offered to the Louvre Museum by his Society of Friends is offered to all donors by the Friends of the Louvre. The program will be inaugurated with a meeting with Pierre Rosenberg, honorary president and director of the Louvre Museum and curator of the major Chardin exhibition organized at the Grand Palais in 1979.

The Society of Friends of the Louvre is one of the museum’s very first private sponsors. Since its creation in 1897, it has enriched the various departments of the museum with nearly 850 masterpieces. This year, the Society of Friends of the Louvre is making an exceptional contribution to the All Patrons! by donating €500,000 for the acquisition of the Chardin Strawberry Basket.
